RADON MITIGATION: Do You Really Need It? This Will Help You y Decide!
Radon gas is invisible, and it doesn’t have any smell or taste, but it accumulates in the basement due to its wavy weight. Radon usually does not present a health risk outdoors because it is diluted in the open air.
Radon is something that we have known about for more than a century. It is something we have known for about two generations as a killer. And what is dangerous about it, as it arises from the radium minerals found in the soil under many homes foundations. This gas is radioactive. It emits the radiation called Alfa particle radiation. Which is very similar to that one we accounted up in space. Alfa particles move very quickly, indeed half the speed of light. It has enough energy to put a dent in a piece of plastic. Imagine what that does inside your body. All of us are born with nice untacked DNA. After Alfa particle gets inside of our body, it reacts with water that comprises our cells and turning it into highly reactive oxygen, which then reacts and breaks part our DNA, generating mutation which drives cancer.
Radon alpha radiation is much more dangerous than x-ray at the dental office. It transforms our genetic cells into cancer inside us. Radon is classified by health authorities as a category one cancer-causing agent.
NRPP Certified radon inspector Katsiaryna Holder from Alfa Air Agency says: “Radon gas comes out of the ground and stays in your front lawn dilutes to almost nothing instantaneously, but if a human makes the airtight structure, like home, then radon gas accumulated, to a very hazards concentration. While radon is a natural thing, what is unnatural is the way our building is concentrated with radon to a very hazardous level. We can do a radon test. For example, with an Alpha track detector. Alphas that pit the film and leave tracks will be calculated under the microscope in a lab. That will tell us how much radon is in the house.
The higher the radon concentration and exposure, the sooner action should be taken to reduce the radon level to as low as possible. The EPA recommends taking steps to lower radon levels if test results show levels 4.0 pCi/L or higher. Experienced radon mitigation provider Giorgi Rodonaia says, “Radon is a health hazard with a simple solution. EPA has developed proved guidelines and techniques to safely remove radon from the house up to 99% “. Rodonaia Holding is a DC metropolitan area radon mitigation contractor who saves lives, one home at a time. People can avoid radon exposure, limit their chances of damaged lung tissue and lung cancer.
EPA, United States Environmental Protection Agency has created a map that indicates where people are more likely to be exposed to radon in indoor air. Darker colors indicate a higher risk.
Pierre Dubois, who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, said that radon is a bit like COVID-19. “The only way to know if you have it is by testing.”
Alfa Air Agency announced 30 free radon test kits give away across DC metropolitan area, zone 1. Americans should know they can take control of their risk from radon.
